I say the same thing. I do read reviews, but I just ignore them if they're that type of reviews. I don't know why people bother criticizing like that. I suppose they must be experts and brilliant writers?

I just write for fun. It's my story, and I write the way it means most to me. They don't like it, they should write their own.

*argues with Meesh* Just kidding.

I read all my comments. Sometimes they're pointless, sometimes they're rude, but most of the time they're rather pleasant. It just depends on the crowd. "Update Soon." comments drive me up a wall though.

And I can't watch/comment anything with a slight ideological or theological tone without getting slammed in the face with pointless arguments and cussfights.

I have mine set so that I can't see them on the page because youtube comments are headache inducing.

That's why I read my FFN reviews and my deviantART comments even though some have been pointless. I think it's neglectful not to.

I never read my Youtube comments though. Youtube comments are a hive of scum and villainy. And not in the way that I like.

She points out these things all the time in my other story too. It's kind of annoying, but she does leave some complements and favorited my other story "Diadem," so I'll stop bashing her.

And Jafaria... Lol, although I do think it's courteous to read what people have to say.

There's also an even older anime where the mermaid is named Melody but I think the sea witch was a shark lady. In my old story book she was named Marina and the witch was a mermaid too. Cool

I try to avoid reading reviews because even though you can get some helpful stuff you can also kind of get the lowest common denominator.

Yeah I guess it is!

I felt like saying, "Well you read till the last chapter and commented on the thrill, and it's the 3rd most favorited fic in the Library of Agrabah so it can't be THAT bad!"

But I decided to stay "smooth, cool." Cool

Isn't there an anime called Mermaid Melody or something? You could have said that Laughing

This is a pm conversation I had with a reviewer on fanfiction.net about my story "Stealing the Stories," in which Chaos puts Aladdin and Jasmine through various stories/fairy tales. In the little mermaid, I had the mermaid's name as "Melody."
I appreciate constructive criticism, but this one just had a stick up her butt.

Quote:
Reviewer: Ariel's the mermaid who fell in love with Eric. Melody's their daughter in the sequel.
Man, talk about cutting it close! Jasmine could very well have died, and then Aladdin would've become trapped inside this storybook world.

Me: Well, I wasn't writing it based on the Disney version but an original version. I've seen a couple where her name is Melody. Also, if you noticed, I changed the spelling of "Erik" and made the witch a thinner octopus creature.
(I give another example from another story and suggest reading the original Aladdin because it's interesting)
Thank you so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: I've seen different forms of Little Mermaid, but the title character wasn't called Melody in any of them.
You could've given the prince a name other than Erik, found some other sea-creature form for the sea-witch.....

Me:I was going by an old fairytale book I owned as a child, in which her name was Melody and the witch was part octopus. I just used the name Erik because I never read a version where he had a name, and it seemed appropriate. Smile
Please don't take it too seriously. I just wrote it for fun. Smile

Reviewer: I don't find your story fun. Maybe I wasn't the intended audience.

Me:That's fair to say Smile
Thanks for reading it anyways!
