I listened to some of it. Other than the drumset, A Whole New World is great, as is Speechless.

I'm a little torn on a Friend Like Me and Prince Ali. On one hand, changing "Sunday salaam" to Friday salaam is actually a good change because that's the real holy day for Muslims. On the other hand "heard your princess was HOT"? I guess that's more in character for Will Smith Genie but still...

Mena sounded pretty good but Naomi knocks it out of the park!

I only listened to a teeeeeny bit of it, since I don't want to spoil too much. Disappointed in the autotune and that Mena clearly is noooot a singer at all. But I like the arrangements/orchestration/production etc. Also, I haven't listened to it yet, but I am told by a few sources that there is some pretty bad drumset use in AWNW.

Soundtrack out today. Slight spoilers for the movie in some of the song titles (not the obvious ones you know already Laughing)

Also I thought there was supposed to be a new song for al and jas?

They removed that new duet apparently.

Album itsel is quite amixed bag for me. Like the instrumental tracks, but the songs are very varying (and sorry, hate that DJ Khaled version of friend Like Me XD)

Hey it could have been worse. They could have got Lil Wayne or some dope along those lines to do it.

Yeah I know, it's actually better than I expected (heck, I actually enjoy One Jump Ahead a lot plus speechless Part 1 is actually quite nice), just still have some stuff that I question.

Also quite a few lines were changed, especially in Arabian Nights. They are not bad per say, but they don't really have much of a flavor. Definitely not something Howard Ashman would write.

Not too keen on Zayn and Zhavia Ward doing A Whole New World, but I look forward to Will Smith's rendition of Friend Like Me. That at least sounds interesting.

So I'm getting mixed dates for the soundtrack, but this is from the official press release: "The digital soundtrack is set for release on May 21 at 9:00 p.m. PT and will be followed by the physical album on May 24."

Here's the Amazon link (that says the soundtrack should be in on the 22nd): https://www.amazon.com/Aladdin-Original-Motion-Picture-Soundtrack/dp/B07RHQVPDQ/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&ref_=dm_aw_dp_sp_bb_sfa

37 tracks!!! (I'm trying to guess which song the track is based off who they say is singing, but there's not that many songs in the original and I ran out so I'm confused Laughing)

Also

Disney explained that Will Smith and DJ Khaled would perform a "re-invented" version of "Friend Like Me" for the credits, and it would be released as a single from the film at some point. Khaled also produced the song.

....that's probably gonna be the worst sentence I'll read all week Laughing

You know, I thought Zayn was an odd choice for split second because he's really only known through a boyband that split up years ago and has had moderate success as a solo artist.

But then I realized there are absolutely no other Muslim/Greater Middle Eastern singers out there that American audiences would even remotely know about (cause it's obvious that's why he was tapped to do this project). I can't even name another one.

We'll all act surprised and like Twitter hasn't known about it forever, just for them Wink

I did turn to my bf the other day and said, "I wonder what trendy pop star is going to make an annoying pop version of one of the songs?" Decided it would be Ariana Grande and Post Malone Laughing

Okay more info!

The soundtrack will be released next Friday, May 10. The full album details are expected to be announced within the next few days.

There was an amazon link available for pre-order but Disney took it down. Shocked Why are they being so weird about this soundtrack??
