So, who is your favorite dwarf from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves?

While I know that Dopey is considered the "people's favorite" (he's the the one the most merchandise, anyway), I had a soft spot for Grumpy. He acts mean and misogynistic, but deep down, he was a caring person. On wikepedia's Snow White site, it says that he's probably the one dwarf that cared most about Snow White. I loved the scene when he warned her about letting strangers in. And that famous line: "Why, Grumpy, you *do* care!" His reaction to her kiss was priceless.

I managed to find a video clip of that scene in the Disneyland stage version. The way he laughed was so funny!

And the scene where the dwarves are mourning her was very touching... Does anyone remember that while the other dwarves put flowers around the glass coffin, Grumpy's bouquet was the one that was actually placed in Snow White's arms? Awww Sad

Grumpy is probably close behind Dopey for merchandise. Snow White has never really been one of my favorite Disney movies, although the evil queen is awesome. I'd have to say if I had a favorite dwarf, it would be Doc.

Ah, yes, Doc. He and I share the same strange speech impediment, you know. Very Happy

Now I think it would have to be sleepy. It resembles my character and what I like most about him.

Grumpy and Dopey.

Dopey because pantomime characters are reeeeally hard to pull off well and its kind of a nod to silent actors who are awesome to watch by the way, and he makes me laugh Laughing

And Grumpy because...he's just grumpy Laughing. Nto to mention I have a Grumpy shirt that says "Diamond in the Rough", so he wins on principle Laughing

Definitely Grumpy. To me, opposites attract and, if the prince wasn't there, I'm all for Snow White/Grumpy ship.

Awwww, how cute! Very Happy

Dopey was certainly one of my favorites. He was the little klutz doing cute things like running in circles and swallowing soap.

When I was little, Grumpy just annoyed me. He was the spoilsport, the little grouch who didn't play well with others. For some reason, I didn't like that too much. Happy came in a close second for least favorite, and Doc kind of weirded me out.

My other favorite would have to be Sneezy. Because he was the only one as entertaining as Dopey!

All in all, I would have to say Doc was the most mentally balanced. He didn't personify some type of extreme.

Geeze, now that I think about it, all the dwarves seem to have some kind of weird disorder.

Bashful - hyper-shy.
Doc - Spoonerisms
Dopey - mental retardation
Grumpy - anti-social behavior
Happy - drugs?
Sleepy - um... low energy
Sneezy - allergies

Actually, Grumpy would be asocial. Anti-social people are usually described as charming and intelligent which belies their disrespect for the personal rights of other people and other homicidal tendencies. Grumpy just doesn't like mingling with other people, namely women.
