Hey there!

Tis dazzeling diamond here (Duh), and I thought, since this is the fanworks seciton, I might take the opportunity to talk up a fanfiction I'm working on with three other authors (Shadows-ligth91, persian85033 and rubyinnle, all situated at fanfiction.net, there work is SO worth checking out)

ANYWHOOOO....AGES ago, we came up with a story that wuld be, well, a monumental effrot on our parts, I mean, a 4-way colloaboration is pretty hard, seriously! I guess, if I'm being honest, I felt a little let down at the low response (I admit that I wasn't being realistic, since the Aladdin fandom isn't as huge as say, HP).

In any case, this might sound desperate....but it has to be said. We put our story up on ff.net, and only received 3 reviews (1 doesn't count because it was spam), and I so felt we deserved more for our efforts....so my determination brought me here

I'm just going to post the prophecy in the first chap of our story, and if that reels you in....then PLEASE check out the rest of the story

A new pair plots someone else’s strife.
These two enemies so well-known
On the horizon will soon be shown.

From this death to life there comes a fear,
For two combined brings an end so near.
No help can seem to conquer all,
As one by one the heroes will fall.

But from the ends of the earth, help arrives,
If you search, the magic survives.
Wind and water and earth and fire:
These elementals will soon transpire.

The wind of the sky is already near,
News of engagement will make her appear,
She will help find the other three.

Water, for you, is the next to find,
A mermaid exiled ‘til she changes her mind.
She will be waiting there by the sea.

Earth will be here, close to the ground
Among the nobility is where she is found
Spanish by blood and religiously true

Lastly with fire the mission now starts,
A girl with eyes that can see into hearts,
In Vinitha, your search will be through."

The poem doesn't really reel me in. If anything, it has me vastly worried that this fanfiction's sole purpose is to show off four peoples' OMGShinyFemaleOCs.

Thank you for your opinion. This is an Aladdin fanfiction, and we each control one character. I know some people are against the entrance of OC's, but personally, I feel that it's not fair to judge them until one has at least read about their characters and development.

She meant the prophecy, but it's fine.

Anyway, we've really worked hard on the story and planning it. It's almost been two years since we've started planning, and it's not just some story about four Mary-Sues. It's going to be great, at least I think so. I know I'm working with three great authors, and I want, if nothing else, to let their wonderful work be shown through this. Just give it a try guys.

And hey, if it doesn't spark your interest when you read the first chapter, at least review and tell us so. Feedback helps!

Whoops, yes I did mean the prophecy...not the banner (Which I actually did make, )

Yeah, I feel really priviliged to work with three fantastic authors, and this story has really become special to us. As far as Mary-Sue's go, many people have different opinions on what classifies a character as Mary- Sue. If we wanna go really far, the whole Aladdin original cast, could be classified as cliched (Very rags-to-riches-, guy-gets-girl, ugly villain, kinda stuff).

As shadows said, reading and reviewing, giving as much advice/constructive critique as possible, would be great

All I'm saying is that instead of reeling me in, the prophesy just left me reeling.

It does not entice me to read the story at all.

You're missing the point. The fact remains that if I were looking for a fanfiction to read for the lulz one day, that one would have completely failed to actually get my attention.

I understand you guys have worked hard on this fanfiction.
But I have to agree with Syera. The poem was well written, however it doesn't catch my attention beyond that. It rhymes and thats pretty and all but... I don't want to continue reading after that. ^^;
